Content Based Image Retrival Using SURF, SVM and Color Histogram - A Review

Kavita Singh · 2014

Abstract — Content-Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) is a process in which we retrieves similar query images from the large database of images. CBIR system uses the features i.e. shape, intensity, color to extract the similar image from the database of images. Recent years the Interest points are used to extract the most similar images with different techniques. In this paper we review the SURF Descriptor with SVM classifier and colour histogram to improve the retrieval accuracy. SURF is a fast image points descriptor and SVM is best classifier. So In this paper we review the SURF Descriptor is combined with the SVM classifier and colour histogram to improve the image retrieval accuracy. Keywords—SURF (Speeded Up Robust Features), SVM(Support Vector Machine), CBIR (content based image retrieval) I.
