Weinvestigate thedesign ofanoptimal setofanalog signals withprescribed magnitude spectrum andquadratic phase structure suchthatthemaximumcrosscorrelation between signals inthesetisminimized. Suchasetofsignals canbeused assignature waveforms inmultiuser CDMA communications. It isalsouseful inanumberofsignal processing applications. In thispaper, wefirst summarize somerecently derived analytic results forthemaximumcross-correlation between twosignals. Then,wepresent someillustrative numerical design examples to showtheeffectiveness oftheproposed approach.
