This paper discusses from an experimental standpoint the challenges to system security design caused by the current dynamic threat environment. Particular emphasis is placed on the security design for advanced systems and how the systems own digital features can meet the changing threat. The approach of this paper is driven by the threat rather than by Government regulations.
