Analysis of Performance ofaTDMA-based Distributed

Nowadays, theIEEE802.11 infrastructure Basic Service Set(BSS)network isthemostwidely usedwireless LAN (WLAN)system. Therearegrowing needstointerconnect Access Points (APs)ofseparate BSSstocreate anIEEE802.11 Extended Service Set(ESS)meshnetwork overthewireless medium. Mesh Distributed Coordination Function (MDCF)isanovelMedium Access Control (MAC)protocol, designed forinterconnecting a large numberofAPstoformanefficient wireless multi-hop net- worksupporting quality ofservice (QoS). Basedonthataneffi- cient ESSmeshnetwork canbecreated. Thispaperevaluates the traffic performance ofMDCF byusing theanalytical approach. Basedontheestablished mathematical model, theoptimal frame parameter settings forMDCF canbeprecisely determined. 1.M*sh poll In Itequency 1~ ~ ass It.is% S hrvi Not |ENS ExWnhfdSgrvkfSct IndexTerms-IEEE802.11 Extended Service Set(ESS)mesh network, MediaAccess Control (MAC),MeshDistributed Coor- dination Function (MDCF),performance modeling, TDMA.
