A new calculable crosscapacitor isbeing constructed at NML aspartofa new impedance standard. Imperfections ingeometry, close approach nonlinearity, gapsbetween bars andinterferometric length measurement areexpected tocontribute less than5nF/Ftotheuncertainty ofthe new standard. A second, identical capacitor isalso under construction andwill beinstalled attheBIPM.
