Message from the WCCIA 2006 Chairs

2006

We are delighted to welcome you to the 2nd International Workshop on Collaborative Computing, Integration, and Assurance (WCCIA), and welcome to Gyeongju, a spectacular city that witnesses the human culture, history, and modernization. Today, in the software development history, we are witnessing a paradigm shift in culture and the mindset. The concepts of service orientation, collaboration, and integration created a new paradigm in computing and in software development, which is drastically different from the traditional software development. This workshop is devoted to addressing the challenges of producing effective and dependable systems and applications in this new paradigm. Runtime assurance techniques, including verification, validation, and evaluation on the fly, are keys to achieve its goals and objectives. WCCIA workshop series provide a forum for exchanging the ideas in the latest research progress among researchers and technologists with advanced research and industry experiences in service orientation, collaboration, integration, service assurance, and interleaved enabling techniques. WCCIA 2006 received 20 submissions from different countries. Each paper is reviewed by two to four reviewers, resulting 13 papers accepted to the workshop. The papers were selected based solely on the evaluation results from the reviewers who are mostly WCCIA 2006 program committee members. The topics of the accepted papers focus on four areas: service-oriented architecture; service-oriented verification and validation techniques; web data representation and evaluation; and web clusters and servers.
