Precise temperature measurement andcontrol has becomeanintegral partofmodernindustry. Themostcommon choice foraccurate temperature measurements istouseResistive Temperature Detectors (RTDs) whichcover almost anyindustrial demands. Initial calibration andrepeated recalibration maybe required toprovide desired accuracy oftemperature measurements. Thehigher accuracy ofa thermometer themoreexpensive calibration technique isdemanded. However, forsomeindustrial- gradeRTDsitispossible toperform a simplified calibration technique because ofthenarrow temperature ranges they areused over. Itisalso essential that thecalibration technique should draw less operator attention andoptimize calibration time. Inthis papera versatile semiautomatic methodofcalibrating industrial RTDsispresented.
