In this paper, we simply review some bufer management mechanisms. In pam'cular, we study the pe$ormance of the RED algorithm by simulation in a packet cellular wireless mhvork Using ns-NOAH simulation the throughput and queue sue of the base-station Wirh RED algorithm are studied in an environment under se[fsimilar @a&. The results show that there are little psfonnance dijference between RED and Drop Tail hestation. We shed some light on these critical questions through the discussions in this paper.
