Brain MRI: Region based Segmentation Techniques

The paper outlines an efficient brain MRI region based segmentation techniques which can significantly distinguish between abnormal and normal tissue. All the segmentation methods are region based and are noise independent. A comparison between three different brain MRI segmentation methods, viz., improved level segmentation method, local region based active contour and variational level set formulation method can be apprehended effectively and their results are also discussed. These methods are applied to both 2D as well as 3D images.
