A New Scheme foron-Demand Group Mobility ClusteringinMobile Ad hocNetworks

AmirMansour Yadegari · 2008

Clustering isanimportant concept formobile ad hocnetworks (MANETs), because clustering makesitpossible to guaranteebasiclevelsof systemperformance, suchas throughput, delay andalsosecurity issues suchasavailability, in thepresence ofbothmobility andlarge numbermobile terminals. Manyclustering protocols formobile adhocnetworks (MANETs) havebeenproposed intheliterature. To reducethesignaling traffic load, reactive clustering maybeemployed. A large variety ofapproaches foradhocclustering havebeenpresented. wehave developed a clustering protocol namedOn-DemandGroup Mobility-Based Clustering withability definition guestnode (ODGM/GN),whichisreactive. Thedesign process especially addresses thenotion ofgroupmobility inaMANET.Asaresult, ODGM/GN mapsvarying physical nodegroupsontological clusters. Inthis paper, we havedefined aGUEST NODE anda cluster level, andthentheperformance ofthealgorithm inthe presence ofnodesmobility isevaluated. Thesimulation results shows5% errorlevel fortheproposed approach. Keywords - MANET,clustering, groupmobility
