A COMPARISONOFCOHERENCEBANDWIDTHMEASUREMENTS AT 11.2 AND 62A4GHz FORINDOORLINEOFSIGHTMICROCELLS

Jean-Philippe Kermoal, Akram Hammoudeh · 1998

A series ofmobile radio measurements weremadeat11.2GHz inanumber ofindoor environments to characterise thecoherence bandwidth. Thecumulative distribution function ofthereceived signal envelope ismodelled asRician andthepowerspectrum isshownasafunction ofdistance. The correlation coefficients between signal envelopes, separated infrequency bya fewMHz and symmetrically disposed aboutthe11.2GHz, aremeasured andexpressed asfunctions ofdistance between terminals. Thefrequency correlation functions arealso presented andusedtocalculate the coherence bandwidth. Thecoherence bandwidths forcorrelation levels of0.5, 0.7and0.9aregiven. Measurements wererepeated underidentical conditions butusinga 62.4GHztransceiver. A comparison between results obtained atbothfrequencies isgiven.
