Thispaperaddresses automatic device detection anddriver provisioning mechanism forsmall devices whichcan beusedinawearable computer orubiquitous healthcare. Inthis context, werequire userdistraction-free environment inusing thedevice. Todothis, weneedtodetect thedevice automatically andprovide its related driver forthose devices. Themainpointofthispaperishowtodetect thedevice automatically andhowtodownload andinstall related driver fromthenetwork. So tospeak, we propose hotplugging mechanism forsmall devices. Inthispaper, wepropose thehierarchical driver consisting lowlevel communication driver andhighlevel functional driver. Thelowlevel communication driver (LLD)receives thepacket fromsensor device withconventional communication protocol andtransmits thepuredataafter trimming headandtail information tohighlevel functional driver (HLD). We devise themechanism tosupport thesmall device suchas wrist-strip andchest bandtypephysiological sensing device in developing infrastructure ofubiquitous healthcare.
