Continuous Inspection A Pattern for Keeping your Code Healthy and Aligned to the Architecture

Agile software development methodologies are primar ily an iterative and incremental development process usually done in short sprints allowing the requirements and software to evolve based upon core business needs. This is done through a close collaboration between self- organizing and cross- functional teams. Larger systems can evolve with bu siness needs over many months and years including enterprise architecture. When this happens, it is important to make sure the core principles of the a rchitecture are maintained or else the system can evolve to something that can be hard to maintain. This paper examines the Continuous Inspection pattern th at can help insure that as the systems evolves using an agile development proc ess, new code can evolve to still map well to the expected architecture.
