An autonomousrobotand a mobile robotareexpectedtoprovidevariousservices withinthehuman living environment. Butthere aremany problemstosolveintryingtodevelop autonomousrobotsthatcanwork likehumans. Therefore, theenvironmentforrobotactivity assumedinthisstudywasafinite spacesuchasa familyroom,an office, ora hospital room. So, accurateposition estimation isimportant tothe robotin achieving a success. Thus we have developeda navigation systemthat detects whethertherobotisdriving accurately usingonly a CCD cameraina room and a corridor. This paperdescribes thatthissystems areimplemented andexperimented withourdeveloped robot.
