Inthis paper, werefine ourE' control desgn presented at the190and1991Americm* Control Conference byintroducing anewreal Km-Synthesis' technique involving theuseofgeneralized Popovmultiplir. Ourmultiplier technique substantially reduces, andinsomecasmayeveneliminate altogether, the conservatives ed withtraditional Kd-Synthesio solutions inwhich alluncetainties aretreaeascomplex, even whenthey arise fromreal paameter such asthemaesand spring constnts inthebenchmark problem. Thedesig rsults demonstrate howthis approach permits avery precise analysis oftheintrinsic tadeoffs between robustnm, performance and control enewrequirements. Alsoincluded isanopen-loop Hm prefilter desig that allows onetoaddress thecommand response shaping issue.
