Inthispaper, wedescribe ourexperience inthe development ofalow-cost delay-tolerant network(DTN)node, basedonacommercial wireless access point (AP). Asfaraswe know,there arenoprevious related experiences. Toachieve our goal, itwasnecessary toperform somechanges intheoriginal DTN stackimplementation tosupport theAP hardware, and compile itwithaLinux-based AP firmware. We explain allthe steps wefollowed toinstall andtest ourmodified firmware, and wecommentourexperience.
