Towards Information Privacy Using Transaction-Based Maxcover Algorithm

P.Cynthia Selvi · 2014

In the present scenario data mining has been considered as one of the most important outwork in information systems. An information system would be successfully useful only when it is collaboratively shared among the counterparts but with certain level of privacy. To ensure privacy while sharing information, Privacy Preserving Data Mining (PPDM) algorithms have been recently introduced. One of the approaches used in PPDM is a heuristic-based sanitization process. This study addresses this concept and proposes an efficient algorithm called Transaction-based Maxcover Algorithm(TMA) that transforms the source database into a sanitized one by removing only selected items rather than all values in the patterns that are to be prevented.
