Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is most common areas of research in the recent years because of the challenges it pretense to the related multicast routing protocols.. Multicast routing protocol is very important in MANET. The aim of the multicast routing protocol is to send data packet from sender to multicast group with least use of resources. Security is the major challenge for multicast routing protocol in MANET as it includes large number of member. This paper covers overview of PUMA and MAODV, various types' internal attacks in multicast routing and related techniques.
