Discussed is obtaining a successful urban environment by coherence and complementarity of public space, infrastructure, and transport services at different scales. According to the rules of complex interacting systems that are applied to the urban environment, the internal coherence at the lowest scales should be the starting point for the construction of multi-layered and/or multimodal transport networks.
