Summary In this paper we present the performances of the Discrete Haar Transform in image de-noising using the improved NeighShrink method. Beside the fact that the Discrete Haar Transform is an orthogonal transform, it can be very rapidly calculated with a specific algorithm. The results yielded by this method through simulations were compared to the ones obtained using the VisuShrink and original NeighShrink methods and proved to be better.
