The 2008 International Workshop on Ubiquitous Wireless Multihop Networking (UWMN-08)

Song Guo · 2008

Wireless multihop networks in the form of mobile ad hoc network, mesh network, and wireless sensor network are attracting significant interest as a low-cost networking platform to support ubiquitous access in the context of home networking, enterprise networking, or a larger, community or metro-scale networking. The wide range of potential applications has different technical requirements and challenges in the design and deployment of such networks. The UWMN-08 is intended to provide an international forum for scientists, engineers, and practitioners to share and exchange their experiences, discuss challenges, present original ideas, and report state-of-the-art and in-progress research results on wireless multihop networking. The program committee of UWMN-08 would like to thank all those who submitted papers for consideration. Each submission was evaluated by two referees (except for papers that were submitted directly to chairs who were responsible for the evaluation of these papers). There are about 25 submissions in total and 5 of them are selected to be included in the final program with two technical sessions. The overall paper acceptance rate is 20%. We are very grateful to the many colleagues who helped in organizing the workshop. In particular, we would like to thank the members of the UWMN-08 Program Committee, who offered their help in reviewing all papers submitted to the workshop. Finally, we thank the authors, attendees and session chairs for their support to the workshop. We hope all of you enjoy the excellent conference program at UWMN-08 as well as the scenic beauty and attractions of the conference venue.
