Itissaidthat a dropofblood can save one'slife. Thereare some diseases suchasAnemiathat are more dreaded, especially inpregnant women andchildren. Diagnosis ofthese diseases requires regular bloodtests. Thediagnosis requires sophisticated equipment withtrained technician. Indeveloped worldthisdoesnotpose a problem, butindeveloping worldthis isa problem. Inmany ruralsettings, thisfacility isjustnot available. Thisnon-availability posesserious health hazards. So there isa needforsimpler andeffective methodtodiagnose these diseases. Itisfoundthatcolor ofblood can give an indication to theseverity ofthesediseases.
