PREDICTION OF BREAST CANCER USING DATA MINING

Breast Cancer prediction and diagnosis are two medical applications pose a great challenge to the researchers. Today, about one in eight women over their lifetime have been affected by breast cancer in the United States.Recently the occurrence rate of breast cancer has been expanding in Japan.Before 1995, breast cancer was the second-leading source of cancerdeath among women in Japan as well. After 1995,breast cancer has been ranked first incidence inJapanese female cancers. Breast Cancer Diagnosis distinguishes benign from malignant breast lumps and Breast Cancer Prediction predicts when Breast Cancer is likely to recur in patients that have had their cancers excised. Thus, these two problems are mainly in the scope of the classification problems. This study paper summarizes various review and technical articles on breast cancer prediction and diagnosis. In this paper we present an outlineof the current research being passedout using the data mining techniques to improvethe breast cancer prediction and diagnosis.
