Thelane departure warning system isimportant forprotecting thedriver fromthepossible accidents inthe smart cartechnology. Analgorithm todetect thelanedeparture using theDynamic Programming isproposed inthis paper. Inthealgorithm, thetrace oftheroadboundary isutilized ascostofthedyanmic programming andthe accumulated cost values arereferenced tocompute theoptimal path. Theroadboundaries aredetected inthebackward tracking onthedistance reference field. Toensure theright boundaries oftheroad, HoughTransform isperformed additionally. Also, theinterframe processing isdonetoincrease therobustness oftheroadboundary detection. The experimental results forthis algorithm areincluded.
