Thispaperdescribes collaborative sensing andactuation algorithms forenvironment control intheframework of optimization. Thesensor network topology isself-configured according tothesensing information tooptimize sensing utility. Experimental results showthat thealgorithms provide thesensor network topology foroptimal sensing. Theserver cangather thesensing data fromallsensor nodesrobustly using thecollaborative sensing algorithm andcalculate the control signals foractuators tobalance energy savings against thequality ofthecontrol signals. Inaddition toa centralized algorithm, a distributed algorithm isalso proposed tocalculate thecontrol signals. Simulations reveal that thedistributed algorithm, whichismorescalable than thecentralized one, canprovide thesameperformance asthe centralized one.
