Ina macroscopic approach, a single-chip cortical patchisdesigned basedonthemodelofabifurcating neuron. Inthis paper, themonolithic design ofthebifurcating neuronis presented. Thedynamic element isabletogenerate anarbitrary one-dimensional mapwith12-bit resolution. TheCMOS design / employs a calibration schemetomaintain robustness against process variations. Theelement isfabricated ina0.6,tm CMOS process, andisdriven undersignals withlMHzfrequency.
