Performing Three Dimensional Interactive Operations of CT Medical Images

D. Kerana Hanirex · 2014

Three-dimensional medical image visualization becomes a research area in medical field, including computer-aided diagnosis, surgery planning and simulation, artificial limb surgery, radiotherapy planning and teaching etc. Three dimensional visualization is a series of theories, methods and techniques which applies computer graphics, image processing and human computer interacting techniques. In most cases, 3-D images are represented as a sequence of two-dimensional (2-D) parallel image slices. Three-dimensional of human medical images for a sequence of two-dimensional image slices. Furthermore, more complex interaction methods including interaction clipping, extraction of any angle virtual slice with translation on 3-D medical images can be realized. Segmentation refers to the process of partitioning a digital image into multiple segments. The goal of segmentation is to simplify and/or change the representation of an image into something that is easier to analyze. Image segmentation is used to locate objects and boundaries in images
