DETECTION MECHANISM FOR DISTRIBUTED DENIAL OF SERVICE (DDOS) ATTACKS FOR ANOMALY DETECTION

DDoS means Distributed Denial of Service. DDoS is the attack to pollute the network. The attacker crea tes a large amount of packet to the particular system. DoS attacks synchronized by a group of attackers wi ll lead to Distributed DoS. The packets are sending by using the compromised computers. Which are targeted systems does not response to all the packets becaus e of the DDOS attacks. In this paper, it is proposed a novel statically method for DDoS attacks that is based on anomaly detection. Statistical techniques are used to classify packets followed by rule set m odel which helps in improving proposed system performance.
