DopplerRadarSensingofMultiple Subjects inSingle and Multiple Antenna Systems
Anders Høst-Madsen · 2005
Doppler radarlife sensing hasshownpromise in medical andsecurity applications, howevertheproblems of motion artifacts andpresence ofmultiple subjects limit the usefulness ofthis technique. Byleveraging recent advances in signal processing andwireless communications technologies, the Doppler radartechnique hasthepotential toovercomethese limitations. We willexplore thesingle andmultiple antenna systems andSIMO/MIMOsignal processing toisolate desired radarreturnsignals frommultiple subjects. Ithasbeen experimentally demonstrated thatuptotwosubjects canbe separated ina single antennasystems. Simulations havealso shownthatincasetwosubjects haveidentical cardiovascular behavior, itispossible todistinguish themusing MIMO techniques.
