A New Filter-Based Unsharp Masking

An unsharp masking filter is studied in this paper. Generally unsharp masking filter is to enhance edges which only requires simple sharpening operator. A simple low pass filter is added to obtain smoothed image. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperformed conventional method.
