TheVPN security gatewayprovides authentication, confidentiality, andkeymanagement. Itchecksthesecurity policy database(SPD) soastodealwiththeinboundand outboundpackets. To optimize theperformance oftheVPN gateway, wehavedonetherelative worksintwoaspects. Onthe onehand,we applythetheoryofmachinelearning tothe configuration ofsecurity policy database (SPD). Andthescheme basedontheID3decision treeispresented. On theotherhand, weapplyelliptic curvecryptography(ECC) tothekeyexchange anddesign thefast algorithms. Smaller keyscanbeusedinECC thaninotherpublic-key systems, butwithequivalent levels of security. Withouroptimization efforts, theefficiency oftheVPN security gateway isenhanced greatly.
