Discovery of conceptual relations for construction in GUMSe ont olo gy
Jesus Serrano‐Guerrero, A. Olivas · 2004
Absfracl- This work presents the discovery of fuzzy relations between terms focused on the automatic building of ontologies. In it, two kinds of relations are proposed for the outology building: ‘‘physical relations” and “semantic relations”, as well as a new factor for the eo-influence between terms: -the physical distance”. The pbysical distance between terms determinates the degree of relation hetweeu such terms, so, when two terms coexist in the same sentence the chance of being related is much higher than when they are located in different paragraphs. The ontology building process presents two main phases: “texts processing” and “calculation of the relation-betweenterms coefiicients”. The results are being incorporated into the GUMSe’ metasearcher (developed in the SMne’ framework) and focused on helping in the “query-expansion” phase.
