Traditional and Emerging Use-Cases for Machine Translation

Despite a few remaining naysayers, Machine Translation (MT) is being used by many people now as a productivity tool, with demonstrable success. There is already a wide variety of use-cases, but more are emerging where MT is the only solution. This paper presents the case for MT, describes its impact on the translator, and demonstrates a need for customisable levels of quality rather than a 'one size fits all' solution.
