The purpose of the development manual is to give an overview of the Rational Unified Process. The document is intended to those who are going to choose a development process for a software development project. The Rational Unified process is a software engineering process developed and marketed by Rational Software Corporation. It provides a disciplined approach to assigning and managing tasks and responsibilities within a development organization. The Rational Unified Process has two dimensions, time and activity. The time dimension indicates when and the activity dimension indicates what will happen during the project. It is essential to combine and adjust these two dimensions to fit the individual project.
