in lead and follow dance
Sommer Elizabeth Gentry, Éric Féron · 2004
Partner dancing requires realtime coordi- nation between a human leader and follower, and so ex- emplifies other decentralized systems: superuisoy con- trol, coordination of agent teams. The paper reports an ezperiment in which the shared musical environment is manipulated to display one song to the leader and a dif- ferent song to the follower. Results indicate that, indeed, musical cues indicate the appropriateness or inappropri- ateness of specific moues at specific points, but that the physical communication between the leader and th.e fol- lower is robust to differences in song structure.
