l(V-I) systemhasbeenthesubject ofseveral papers in pastyears. Forthemostpart, optimization, astreated inthesepapers, consisted inadjusting thesystem damping orresonant frequency tominimize a specific errorfunction. Morerecently, ageneralized optimizationoftheV-Isystem wasundertaken, again withemphasis onminimizing asingle errorfunction [4]. The present paperreports a continuation ofthisworkin whichcertain aspects oftheminimization ofmorecomplexerror functions wereconsidered. TheV-Isystemblockdiagram(Fig. 1),whichwas discussed indetail in[3], showsthethree principle systemoutputs, A, acceleration, V,velocity andG0verticality. Theseoutputs, respectively, haveerrors EA(S), EV(s) andES,whicharegiven bytheequations
