Structure of gem-graphs

The purpose of this paper is to introduce the gem-graphs, which are the natural ex- tensions of trees and higher-dimensional trees (such as k-trees and k- trees) and deter- mine their basic properties. We obtain a characterization of gem-graphs over paths of length at least 4 or cycles of length at least 5, and also determine their connectivity, cen- trality, planarity and Hamiltonian -property.
