MDE components specification (Task 4.2)

There is no "out of the box " model-driven engineering solution that satisfies each context and fulfills every requirement. Each company who wants to set up an MDE approach has to develop or adapt a metamodel and its related edition, verification, transformation and generation tools as well as process elements. The result of this is a highly strategic Artifact, that we call « MDE Component ». This deliverable defines and formalizes the notion of MDE component, identifies different kinds of usage, works on the related methodology, and implements a supporting tool for this. Example MDE/MDA components are moreover developed.
