Weneedvarious codecs loaded onto ourplayer environment oroursystem toactually interpret themedia content athand. Thedistribution ofthecodecs forvarious canbedoneusing mobile agents sothat they canlook fortheappropriate codec anddistribute it fortheuser, ifitisnotavailable onthesystem foraspecific type ofencoded media content. Theaimofthis paper isto devise amechanism forthis, using mobile agents. So,amedia content player architecture, called MAMP (Mobile Agent MediaPlayer), based onmobile agents issuggested toacquire theappropriate codecs based onthemedia content being played with theprovision ofcached information ofthecodecs available forfaster andefficient search ondifferent servers ontheWorld WideWeb.
