SIGNAL-SUBSPACE TRANSFORMATION FOR ARRAY SIGNAL PROCESSING

This paper presents a family of real-time preprocessors for general arrays to improve the performances of direction finding and beamforming techniques in the presence of multipath. The preprocessors are based on the time-domain realizations of the coherent signal-subspace transformation (CSST) matrices [l]. The array structure includes a timedomain CSST preprocessor followed by a commonly used narrowband direction-finding and/or beamforming algorithm. The performances of direction finding and beamforming algorithms with and without CSST preprocessing are compared. I.
