Theintrinsic square-law non-linear function ofthephotodiode, between theoptical field amplitude and thegenerated current, canbepartially compensated bymeansofasimple non-linear electrical circuit performing asquare-root function after thephotodiode. Practical implementation hasbeencarried out, andtheexperimental andsimulation results withMLSE,FIRandRoFdemonstrate theperformance enhancement.
