Nextgeneration Business Intelligence systems re- quires flexible andon-time access toenterprise's data. Thispaper highlights theimportance ofadataintegration layer inaBusiness Intelligence system andthebenefits thattheuseofanontology asdatadescription formalism andqueryinterface, canbring tothesystem. Inparticular we focusontheaspects ofdata mappingandontology enrichment, giving ageneral overview of theproblem. We introduce alsoBT DataFoundry platform that hasbeenimplemented byIntelligent Systems Research Centre of BT Exact(British Telecom) asamethodtoprovide theBusiness Intelligence system withacommondataaccess layer. We provide alsoanoutline ofthesolution todatamapping andontology enrichment problems, basedonsemantic bridges andFormal Concept Analysis (FCA). We useanormalization layer basedon heuristic toreduce thetermsspace.
