Line Segmentation is very important part of any OCR system. A Line can be segmented from a printed document as well as from handwritten text document. In this paper, our main focus is on Line segmentation of handwritten text document written in Gurumukhi script. There are various methods which will be discussed later in this paper to segment a line from a handwritten document. Accuracy of line segmentation plays very important role in OCR , because in OCR system there are many other phases which highly depends on the accuracy of the segmented line, various parts are word segmentation, character segmentation and feature extraction. If there will be some error in the line segmentation then other parts cannot perform their task accurately.
