This paper discusses several aspects related to testing the ability of security products to detect malware. The complexity of malware and of security solutions continues to increase extremely quickly, so we present arguments as to why we believe that traditional comprehensive testing of anti-virus products (QA) is no longer viable and why a different approach is in order.
