Geographic Information System Application for Water Allocation

Geographic information system (GIS) has gotten extensive application in water resource management, except in water resource allocation. By analyze the research content, principle and method of water resource allocation, the data management and analysis function of GIS is helpful to build water resource allocation decision support system. As the water resource allocation of Hebei province configure for example, the apply mode of GIS in water resource allocation is discussed. regional scale NPS pollution models. PIRI was considered a particularly good candidate for integration with GIS because of the simplicity of the model, the relatively low data requirements of the model, and the regional nature of the processes that PIRI models. An example application was used to demonstrate the advantages of integrating PIRI with a GIS. The pesticide impact rating index (PIRI) was developed in Australia to assess the detrimental impact to surface water and groundwater resources from a specific site, taking into account environmental, pesticide and land use factors. While PIRI is suitable for site based modeling, it is not well suited for regional assessments, as it cannot handle spatially distributed input data. This limitation can be overcome by integrating PIRI with a GIS. GISs are designed to manage spatial data, so by integrating PIRI with a GIS it becomes possible to perform regional assessments of the impact of pesticide use on surface water and groundwater resources.
