A Study on Fingerprint Loop-Ridge Count in Relation to Gender

Gender classification from fingerprints is an important step in forensic anthropology in order to identify the gender of a criminal and minimize the list of suspects search. The objective of the present study was to study the differences in the finger loop ridge count among male and female subjects. ANOVA analysis revealed no significant mean difference in the finger loop ridge counts among gender in the present study.
