QUADRA ENHANCEMENTS TO MINTERM

Current HF modems residing in Advanced Narrowband Digital Voice Terminal (ANDVT) TACTERM and ANDVT MINTERM do not provide an antijam capability. In today’s RF environment with many intentional and unintentional jamming signals, jamming protection is a necessity. Spread spectrum techniques, consisting of pseudo noise (PN) spreading by the modem or frequency hopping by the radio, will provide the desired jamming protection. QUADRA supports spread spectrum operation by first PN spreading the data and then by formatting data in packets that are compatible with military standard, frequency hopping radios.
