SHADOW DETECTION AND REMOVAL CAUSED BY MANMADE BUILDINGS IN HIGH RESO- LUTION REMOTE SENSING IMAGES

C P Leela, K. Murali · Indian Journal Of Applied Research · 2015

High-resolution aerial images allow a substantial data source for several areas of study. This proposal deals with char acteristics of high resolution aerial images, mainly focus to identify shadows from high resolution color aerial image, and also undertaken to conscate the shaded region in the metropolitan area. The recognition of the edges will be affected mostly by the applica- tion of the external parameters. In this process the region growing thresholding algorithm is used to detect the shadow region and extract the fea- ture from the shadow region. The concept of region growing algorithm is checking the neighboring pixels of the initial seed points. Then determine whether those neighboring pixels are added to the seed points or not.
