Due to largecontroloverheadand latency, traditional multicast andunicast mechanisms arenotsuitable forcontext-aware messaging services wheremultiple nodes subject to a particular contextreceive several appropriate messages fromaparticular server. We propose novelmulticast architecture forcontext-aware messaging services. By theaid ofadditional infrastructure ourmechanism builds a multicast treeinatop-down mannerfromasource tomultiple receivers without clients' JOINoperations whilethefirst datamessage isdelivered. Simulation results showthatourmechanism has significantly loweroverhead andlatency thantraditional unicast andmulticast mechanisms. Keywords-Context, multicast, architecture, Xcast, future In- ternet
