CHAOS INSiMMIC OSCILLATORS
Almudena Suárez, Sergio Sancho · 1999
Thispaperanalyzes thedynamics oftwoSi circuits inmillimetric bandforwhichchaotic responses hadbeenexperimentally observed. Theaimhasbeen todeternmne, ineachcase, theparticular phenomena leading tothechaotic response, inordertoavoidthis behavior infuture realizations ofthese circuits. The mostinfluential parameters havebeendetermined, analyzing theroutes tochaosundervariations ofthese parameters. Thensomefrequency-domain techniques havebeendeveloped forthedetection oftheinitial bifurcations taking place inthese routes fromstandard harmonic-balance simulators. Thisshouldbemore efficient intermsofdesign timeandenable thechaos prediction whentimedomain simulations arenotwell suited. Twocircuits basedonanIMPATTdiode have beenanalyzed, oneofthembeinga self-oscillating mixer, obtaining verygoodagreement withformer experimental observations.
